POLLY

Hi Wendy,
I wanted to send you an update on Polly on her first birthday. We totally adore Polly! She is just as you said...affectionate and loyal. She loves being around us and we are so happy that she is part of our family!

She loves going out fishing with us on the boat. At first she was a bit unsure of the fish as they landed on the aluminium deck and thrashed around, but now she paws at them, sniffs and generally stands over them, no more fear!

She is really sociable with other dogs; I have a couple of close friends with dogs, a Scottish terrier and a Staffy. Polly chases them around from dawn till dusk, they are older and very tolerant, but they are all clearly great friends! She has got used to commuting between our home in Nelson and our weekend place in the Sounds and has a kennel outside in both places. I have just bought her a coat for night-time as it was pretty chilly in the sounds last month and she sleeps outside at night.

I began clicker training Polly the day after she arrived with us and she is beautifully trained now. She loves the clicker training (or the treats at least) and the last thing I had to sort out was to stop her jumping up at people when they arrive or she first sees them and is excited. She is pretty good now and didn't even jump up at me when I picked her up from the kennels after a weekend away; she just wags her tail like crazy, really low to the ground. We had her coat clipped when it was hot in the summer and we were heartbroken because she looked harsh and mean and like a boy! We have vowed not to have her clipped by professionals again and so we do a scissor cut ourselves, around her eyes, belly, legs and bottom! Otherwise she is like a ball of black Velcro!

She is not allowed up on the furniture so when she wants a cuddle she comes up and rests her chin on the sofa next to us! She really is gorgeous, loves playing rough and tumble and chasing a ball.

Milly.D.O.B 15.12.07 Daughter of Cole & Rupert. Thank you so much Wendy for breeding "The Perfect Dog." Milly has been such a wonderful addition to our family. She was completely self-toilet trained by 3 months (amazing as I have breed big dogs in the past who took nearly a year)

I have grandchildren & she is 100 per cent safe around babies, toddlers etc. What amazes me is her intelligence & loyalty. She is such a joy to take everywhere we go. Anybody contemplating giving a home to one (or more) of Wendy's Schnoodles will "Never" be disappointed.
